Hey what’s up guys, OraK from clan ZE (EU)! I’m back from a long break after Era3 ending and in the very first days, I realised that I needed something fast to farm cause of the work I had to do, mainly grift keys, some mats and grift to lvl up gems up to 80/85! So I’ve made this LoN Sprinter build which basically has the same concept of a LoN Walker but it is definitely more viable on torment 13 and medium tier grift like 70/75! Atm, for this kind of farming purposes I believe this is the fastest WD build because it relies on a lot of boostes from items and skills. Pay attention to 1 thing, to be the fastest wd build doesn’t mean it is the fastest between all classes, cause we can’t manage trashmobs like other classes, we must focus on elites only or we would end finishing 2-3 screens away in case you are in a party. Anyway my medium average clear time for a torment13 or gr70 is about 3mins which is good considering my low paragon and no augmented gear. So this being said, this LoN Sprinter is for players who mainly play WD and had time to gear up all the ancient pieces. This “gear up” part is the most hard one, cause it will take some time and seasonal players may have some troubles at the beginning.
Let’s make a backstep, as i said before, there are already some speedfarm builds for WD, the most known are LoN Walker, which is based on Locust Swarm + Gargs, then there is HT Gargs + Angry Chicken. Honestly, I don’t like the first one since blizz increased torments level. The HT Gargs in stead is the one that I use for bounties cause there are way less elites to proc the core item of every LoN speed build which is In-Geom, while the chicken is the right compromise to perform well for that kind of purpose. About the chicken, it has been excluded from this build for 2 main reasons, first of all cause manajuma set can’t be used with Legacy of Nightmare set and secondly because chicken form doesn’t allow us to cast other skills without interrupting our run and moreover it exposes us to dmg. LoN Sprinter, instead, it is all about refreshing our speed boostes without considering toughness thanks to perma Spirit Walk. Once you proc in-geom you will be refreshing your SW, Horrify and Soul Harvest over and over while haunting for the next elite pack and you only need to pay attention for 1 second when Spirit Walk gets ready again (for people new to the class you may have not noticed an internal cooldown between every SW cast)
Now let's focus on the other stuff, like skills gems and items..
Another useful skill is Piranhado which is very good to help Gargs in the their job. Piranhado is also very important to avoid a weird bug affecting our pets, infact they don't attack enemies if pets are not provoked which means you don't have to engage a pack with Horrify, but you need to cast Piranhado first. In case you notice Gargs not attacking your enemy then just cast Piranhado to interrupt the CC. So remember, once you have seen your next elite, stop for a moment in Piranhado range and cast it, then go in (see the video). To make your gameplay easier, especially during long session of farming, i suggest you to help yourself with minor macro to refresh what you prefer, absolutely don't use programs like AutoHot Key which will cost you a ban.
Now let's talk about the dmg boost. As shown in the video, LoN bonus is pretty much enough for t13, but anyway there are multiple way to increase your power through items, skills and gems. In a pet build you are obviously going to use a Mask of Jeram and Taskers and Theo. Your MoJ doesn't need to be capped at 100%, you only need it as ancient version, because the bonus granted by LoN is higher than the one given by the mask, especially considering that the Mask bonus goes into Elemental dmg calculation so it's not as shown on item description but is lower. Other items are Hexing Pants of Mr. Yang and the Harrington Waistguard for normal rift only. Other buffs will come from your active and passive skills which are Confidence Ritual, Gruesome Feast, Midnight Feast, Sacrifice, Soul Harvest and Piranhas ofc.
Your gems will be the Enforcer, Bane of the Trapped which is self procced by Gargs also and Bane of the Powerful. Im my video my gems are about lvl 100, don't worry, the moment you collected all the ancient gear, i'm pretty sure you are already farming your gems to 100 or more with another set, every LoN build takes some time to gear up especially if you are on Season as said before! Another cool gem is the Boon of the Hoarder in case you want more and more speed.
The belt is the Krelm's one, that will be always up thanks to our perma spirit walk. The bracers are the Nemesis to spawn elites and proc our In-geom, and also because you are probably going to be the fastest in your group and you don't want to lose time waiting for them. On the shoulders slot we use Homing Pads to come back to town quickly, you can use something different when farming speed grift because nobody will ever interrupt your recall. The chest is the Aquila Cuirass which is very good at the beginning of the game when you ain't procced your perma severance yet. The mojo is the Homunculus so we can Sacrifice (Provoke the pack) our dogs and gain dps, but keep in mind to do not sacrifice them while standing or you will incur in Hexing pants malus! You have to stutter step, so 1 step 1 sacrifice and so on...
In the cube we obviously gonna put the gargs ring and a sacred harvester to increase our benefit from Soul harvest (armor or more movement speed). For the armor slot you have 2 possible choices, during normal rift i run Harrington Waistguard and in grift i use Lakumba's bracers.
Ok guys, that's it. I know this is build is not that easy to gear up as said before, don't forget that every single item have to be ancient, your rings included. So until you don't fit every requirements i suggest you to play with a normal HT Gargs with Manajuma!
I hope you enjoyed the guide and the video, cya next time
Your application is in "Process", which means it's passed the first check from the class leader and it hasn't been declined. Now class leader usually takes 3-4 more days to monitor your profile for a better idea and then he decides what to do.
Usually it takes a bit longer when a new season just started.
If you get declined you will receive an email, otherwise a friend request from our class leader
Survivability. No need bad medicine, just improve your chest and bracers putting vitality instead of armor. If troubles persist then you should consider Life% on shoulders instead of CDR. This is a rare case, because in a perfect stats scenario i would go AD on that piece.
Ancient Weapon. It makes a lot of difference so don't give up on rerolling it with cube. If u get a good one (7% IAS possibly) your dps will improve A LOT. Don't waste you Bounty mats on anything else until u got a good one; 100-300 more should be enough (300 if really unlucky).
Rings/Paragons. Dps is the result of a multiplication where different factors are involved. Crit Chance, Crit Dmg, weapon dmg, average dmg, int, etc. Considering your paragon is a bit low (i mean no 800 yet) you can't spend all your paragon points on every category yet, meaning that you lacking on some of the factors i've mentioned before. This means that you MUST improve your rings until you have a decent trifecta (7%ias, chc, chd), i know it's not that easy but that will be your 2nd goal after ancient weapon. Perfection needs time, dw
Gameplay (?). You didn't mention anything about gameplay, but i think u may have some troubles in survivability also because of some lack in experience with the build. I'm not here to teach you how to play, but don't forget that Fetishes can protect you (especially if u run Confidental Ritual) and never start spitting darts if you are not sitting in a safe position (safe = at least your backside, wall, corner, etc) and, moreover, look for big groups of mobs to benefit from DoD's piercing effect, you don't want to kill everything. If you have troubles with fetishes staying "behind" then Spirit Walk for 50 yards and backtrack where you want to reposition them.
Don't give up, i'm sure you will reach 60 soon
Arachyr + Manajuma is my favourite combination atm for speedfarming bounties and T9 rifts (t10 not worth it).
There are still people out there who got a fulltime job and a girlfriend so... will do, thanks for the answer! cheers
90% of ZE members have a job or /job+gf. That was a kind way from Zaramos to tell you that RoS has been realised 18 months ago and your cumulative paragons from previous 3 Seasons is 609, meaning that you have no experience in the game and you are not addicted to d3 like us. Keep this stupid ego for you.
In this written guide i'm gonna explain again what it's described in the video!
Premise: I like to work on more builds so people are not forced to play with just 1 and they can run their favorite, so i'm not stating that this is the BEST build for DBs farming, because you would probably prefer Arachyr/Manajuma. I'd say Sage Carnevil is a very good compromise for DBs + GR keys farming.
I've made a different setup for Carnevil to farm Death's Breath on high difficulties, so we can equip Sage Set like other classes without losing efficiency and too much dps. Ofc we are not barbs, monks and DHs so the result isn't the same like other classes but i'm sure, with good practise, everyone can reach a good gameplay/efficiency for solo and group!
Before talking about the build, i'd like to remind you that the drop chance of DBs (Death's Breath) changes on every Torment tier! On t6 you have 77%/80%, on T7 90%, on T8+ you have 100% with the only difference that on T8 you have 5% more chance to drop a 2nd DB and on T9 15%, on T10 is 25% more. So basically the most efficient way for a guaranteed double DB is playing on T8! Ofc on T10 you can get much more DBs, but tbh i don't think the 20% more chance is worth it as Witch Doctor! Go higher T if you are playing in group.
The gear is pretty much the same that you have been using on patch 2.2, so you are not gonna play Focus / Restraint, but in stead you go back to Convention of Elements and Zuni's Pox! That's the only way to fit Sage set inside a WD build without ruining the basic core of the spec, Z6 in this case. Don't worry about the loss of damage compared to F/R! Torment 8 is still an easy GR35, so you will be melting everything
In the cube you will go for Carnevil mask, Ring of Royal Grandeur and In geom (in the video i cubed DoD cause my in geom was better). The sword is so amazing for this build and every farming build in general, especially because you are going to free a slot for Angry Chicken replacing BBV so you can spam chicken and go much faster in your elite packs hunt!
I'm using only 1 spender skill but that's up to you and your gameplay, if you prefer to run a 2nd spender then just do it! The spender skills are free choice, i really like to play with Frozen Piranhas because it has short cooldown (compared to Piranhado), it buffs my deeps (debuff on mobs) and it also procs BotT gem! The other gems are simplicity strenght and enforcer.
Passive skills are pretty much mandatory, so Spirit Vessel, Pierce the Veil, Fetish Sycophants and one between Grave Injustice and Gruesome Feast, i suggest you to run Hellfire Amulet because they are both important for a better efficiency.
Well that's all guys, i hope you enjoyed the guide and the Sage Carnevil!
Hello Solased, ty for your interest in joining ZE!
Your application is not my business (i'm WD class leader) so probably you will hear something more from the right DH guy, but honestly i didn't like it. You stated a couple of times that in past you had a casual approach to Diablo 3 and this implies that you don't have the right/complete knowledge of your class and in game experience (metas, teamplay, etc.) So, even if your approach has changed with S4, i don't think that's the right moment for you to apply ZE.
i'd like to share with you my rank 1 NS-EU telling you what i have done and changed during these 4 months! First of all i want to say a big GZ to all WDs around the world that took part to the leaderboards and also the ones that couldn't reach them, in fact i have pushed so high because we had a very fair and cool competition, so yeah thx, i hope we all had tons of fun first of all
So let's start...
Basically my Road to Rank 1 is composed by 5 GRs: 53-56-57-58-61! I recorded everything, because i usually watch my videos to understand my mistakes and luckily they are also good to show people what's going on! If you take a look at all my videos you will notice that i changed a lot of stuff from GR53 to GR61, i have always tried to evolve my gameplay GR by GR tier by tier. That's something really important that i'd like to share with players new to the GRs system.."Think out of the box"! Every tier is different and you have to adapt, all the classes have Pros and Cons, we are not perfect then we have to do our best with the gear and the skills.
In my GR53 my approach to Carnevil build was really basic. I was using the common build with 2 spenders, Aughild's set and Enforcer, Simplicity, Gogok as gems. Everything went fine, i probably spent just a couple of keys to clear it. I still think that this is the best way to start to play carnevil cause you can fully understand the mechanics of the build. Piranhado will help you to group up everything, Aughild's set gives you a lot of toughness and it helps a lot in killing the packs, moreover there is Gogok gem to reach 1-2 higher breakpoints for more damage. Here is the video.
GR 53: (rank 4)
In GR56 i made my first changes. First of all i used an immunity amulet to make the gameplay less "fishy", but tbh that's something that can still work in low tier, in fact i didn't use it anymore, but that was worth to try and in GR56 worked. I was still using Aughild's and gogok, the "new entry" was BotTrapped gem instead of Enforcer. I also put GotD as spender to proc the green gem and tbh it was a better choice compared to my previous Acid Cloud. The result was very good and there was nice synergy in the build, but it wasn't perfect..i needed to work on it.
GR 56: (rank 4)
After clearing GR56 i took a short period to focus on how to improve the build, i saw a big potential to push higher and higher so i decided that i had "to think out the box" to make the difference to climb the leadeboards. The result was sick and "drastic". No more gogok (replaced with Enforcer), no more Aughild's set, i was back to 5 passives (hellfire amulet), but mainly no more 2 spenders! I realised that dps from gogok was nothing compared to a high lvl Enforcer and also because my fetishes began to die quickly so a boost to their toughness was pretty much needed. Then i removed Aughild's because on high tiers you don't want to kill elite packs to do not waste your precious time and also because i thought that we could pretty much fix the loss of dmg vs elites just by reaching higher breakpoints with Lacuni's bracers and a good Zuni Pox, i was right. The real big change was the pass from 2 spenders to only 1! To do that i had to find the perfect mix between Piranhado and GotD, the result was Frost Piranhas! This rune is very nice because it has low cooldown and also because it procs my BotT gem, with some CDR on mask and shoulders i was able to use it every 5 seconds, perfect for Zuni bonus. Ess of Johan on follower worked really fine with his proc around every 10-12 seconds, so no need of Piranhado anymore. Another interesting point of this change was the brand new free slot on my skill bar! I decided to use Soul Harvest (Languish) to fix my lack of dps compared to higher paragons Witch Doctors and also because i was able to run more toughness, the toughness that i dropped from my gear to use 1 spender. That was my winning choice and i'm proud of it! From this moment i stopped uploading my videos on youtube because i really felt i had found something different that could have made the difference to let me reach rank 1.
I uploaded GR 57 and 58 yday, i apologize with my subscribers but i had to do it.
GR 57: (rank 7)
GR 58: (rank 3)
After GR58 i took another break, this time a bit longer. My build was working fine, but sadly i realised that my paragon lvl was not enough to compete for rank1, even if i don't think is needed (rng, mobs, map come first), i felt that i should have invest the last 90-100 days of Era3 in grinding paragons. Another good thing of speedgrifting was that i was able to gamble tons of stuff and that really helped me to make my gear perfect. I had what i wanted, trifecta Pox, nice Lacunis and pretty much better stuff in every slot. After my 90 days of grinding i felt i did a good job with my gear and also with my paragons (around 200 more, so 250k+ dps). I also had time to farm bounties and find a perfect Skeleton King shoulders (a must have, boys). I was ready to come back on the battleground!
I took a look at the leaderboards and in that moment rank 1 was Gr60. I trained so hard, i felt tier 60 was not the highest possible, so i decided to go ALL-IN and farm 61s keys only! That was a risky decision, by the end of the Era i could have been rank 20 or rank 1, but that was worth to try, better nothing than a rank 2. With the help of my amazing clanmates and also some friends from friendlist i farmed a total of 250x61s and i spent them in around 15 days. I must say that wasn't that chilling. Sadly to reach rank 1 you are not free to open and play, you have to fish for the right Grift so the first days were really frustrating. I was looking for Unburieds, Summoners or Zombies mainly and obv the perfect boss. Actually WD doesn't have a "perfect boss", you just want to avoid Stonesinger (the worst), Crusader King, Rime, Bloodmaw, Voracity, Perdition and stuff like that. Well guys, during my first 180 keys i spawned only 3 bosses (yeah i got only 3 playable grift) and i got Stonesinger and Crus King x2. I got rekt, but i had no time to feel sad, i had to push, era was coming to an end and the guy on rank1 improved his rank clearing Gr61 in around 15 mins. I still felt i could do it, i had eveything i needed.. gear, my personal build, and why not my ability to play the class (i've always played WD since day 1). I farmed 100 more keys for the last push. I did small changes after failing those keys, i decided to go full glass cannon (like removing all res from boots, etc), i had 9m toughness unbuffed. Toughness wasn't an important thing for my build. Everything could 1 shot me and i have a short cooldown to fetish army (59 sec). Well, 2 days before the ending of Era i had MY chance. I opened an arreat crater with godly density, i took a deep breath and i started to fight. Right at the beginning i had the worst possible nightmare, reflect dmg + ghosts pack! I decided to proc my Spirit Vessel for a double chance to skip it and i was right..proc + spirit walk and i disappeared from their radar. Since that moment i only had 1 thing in my mind, rank 1 and i did it! In my GR61 i introduced a new kind of gameplay that really made the difference in terms of rift progress. I started playing MELEE so i was able to cast BBV against big groups and restore the cooldown for the next group. You basically have to play in 5 yards max from the mobs with fetishes bodyblocking for you. It's risky and a big gamble but this stuff makes the difference to reach higher tiers, yeah once again "think out the box". I mastered this gameplay during my 90 days break doing speedgrifts as boss killer.
GR 61: (rank 1)
I'm not so happy with my performance tbh, i could have done much better. I made a mistake on boss fight, i didn't have the perfect double rotation with BBV+CoE, but who cares now...the final result is what i prefer.
So guys, as you can see, my GR53 is really different compared to GR61 and that's what i enjoyed the most during these months. The evolution of my character and, first of all, of myself. I'd really like that more people will join us on the leaderboards especially now that trials are gone. I have big plans for Era 4, i can't wait to compete with you guys with our new carnevil (and HT as well).
WD is amazing, we are having hard times in 2.2 because of our lacks (no aoe skills, no burst dmg while running, slow mechanics and movement speed), but i would never change my class with anything else. I strongly prefer to play a grift and be alert 100% of the times, watching everywhere because everything can 1 shot you. That's why we play, we want fun and adrenaline. I love my class
I hope you guys enjoyed my road to rank 1, i wish you good luck for next Era and the game in general.
